Hi, I'm Anmar

I’m a trained chef and the owner, head baker & cake decorator here at Crumb

After working as a professional chef all over the world I ended up on the East Coast of England where I noticed a gap in the market for creative wedding and celebration cakes.

Creating incredible cakes has always been my greatest passion so I decided to make it my full time job and started baking from home. Crumb was born in 2010, and I have been baking cakes and sweet treats ever since.

Today I find myself in the Western Cape in Sunny South Africa where I continue to build my little baking empire.

In my home based bakery I create all sorts of delicious showstoppers - be it for weddings, birthdays, corporate events or even just for that much needed sweet fix! My husband is my right hand man, and if I'm not baking I'm probably fussing over and taking selfies with my gorgeous little rescue cat, Tormund.
What Are We Doing Now?
Everything we bake is made from scratch using the best ingredients we can get our hands on - we use REAL butter, REAL Belgian chocolate, Stoneground flour and free range eggs. No corner cutting, and definitely no margarine!!!
Quality Ingredients
We have a very loyal and rapidly growing vegan following - something that has grown out of a combination of passion and demand. Our vegan brownie slabs, meringues, doughnuts and cinnamon buns are some of the best, (if not the best) in the biz.

We also bake incredible treats that are available for retail. We supply to some amazing deli's and cafe's around Cape town. If you are interested in stocking us please get in touch - we can even create something bespoke for your shop!
Retail / Wholesale
Many eventful things have happened over the years. A few highlights include being named a finalist in the 2020 FoodXX "Women in Food Awards" in the bakers category by Studio H, in 2019 I was runner up in KykNET's 3rd season of KOKKEDOOR, an Afrikaans reality cooking competition in South Africa, and we were named "Best Wedding Cake Designer" in the East of England when we were still living in the UK
